Dr. Deanna Morton grew up in Saint John, NB and has always had a passion for animals and nature. From a young age she had the goal of becoming a veterinarian. On that path, she studied at UNBSJ for a Bachelor of Science with a major in Environmental Biology. She then went on to graduate from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2009.
While in school, she also worked as a member of the Naval Reserves as a Naval Communicator. In the reserves, she met her husband who then transferred to the regular force and was posted to Halifax where they now reside (outside of the city) with their 2 kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats.
In her spare time she enjoys gardening, house renovations, traveling, and spending time with her family.
What she enjoys most about her job is helping families through difficult situations with their pets and also the number of animals that she gets to interact with on a daily basis.
